Beyond the Sport

The organizing committee of the African Wrestling Championships has announced a meaningful initiative carrying strong human and awareness-driven messages, through the launch of an anti-doping campaign under the slogan: “Clean Sport, Healthy Future.” This campaign is particularly aimed at young wrestlers and their coaches, using educational workshops and informative posters displayed inside the competition venue and across social media platforms.

On the sidelines of the championship, a symbolic tree-planting initiative will also be held in several locations across the city of Casablanca, which is hosting this continental event. This action will see the participation of numerous athletes and officials, aiming to raise environmental awareness and emphasize the societal role of sport in promoting sustainable development.

Through these initiatives, the African Wrestling Championships—hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco and organized by the Royal Moroccan Wrestling Federation in partnership with various stakeholders and enthusiasts—demonstrate that sport goes far beyond competition on the mat. It also serves as a powerful tool for education, awareness, environmental stewardship, and the strengthening of bonds of friendship.
