Event Overview

The African Wrestling Championships 2025 will bring together Africa’s best wrestling talents in Casablanca, Morocco. Covering Senior, U20, and U17 categories in Greco-Roman, Freestyle, and Women’s Wrestling, the event is set to be a premier showcase of skill and competition.

Special Events

The tournament will also host the UWW Africa General Assembly, alongside technical conferences and referees’ consultations, fostering development and collaboration in the African wrestling community.

 

Arrival & Accreditation

Teams will be welcomed at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, with accreditation handled at Ibis Casablanca City Center. The organizing committee will ensure smooth logistics for all delegations.

 

Referees & Technical Officials

The event will feature referees from Category IS and I, with dedicated training sessions and evaluations before the championship. Courses will cover Levels I to V, ensuring fair and professional officiating.

Training Camp

A pre-event training camp will be organized from April 20 to 27, 2025, at Centre Sportif du Bourgogne. This camp provides wrestlers with an excellent opportunity to prepare for the competition under optimal conditions. The daily fee for participation is CHF 60 per person.

Competition Schedule

The championship will run from April 29 to May 4, 2025, with daily sessions starting with medical examinations and weigh-ins, followed by qualification rounds, repechages, and finals in the evening. The final day will conclude with award ceremonies and closing events.

Accomodation

Delegations will be hosted at leading hotels in Casablanca, including Ibis City Center, Novotel City Center, and Ibis Abdelmoumen for referees. The UWW Bureau will be accommodated at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca.

Registration & Fees

All final entries must be submitted by March 27, 2025. A participation fee of CHF 100 per senior athlete applies, while accommodation costs CHF 180 per day per person, covering full board services.

The championship will be held at Complexe Sportif Mohammed V, equipped with three competition mats and modern amenities. Athletes will have access to top-tier facilities, ensuring a seamless and high-performance experience throughout the tournament.
