The excitement and competition continue at the African Championship in Casablanca.

The African Wrestling Championship continues its events until May 4, showcasing impressive performances by wrestlers from across the continent. Among the standout teams is the Moroccan national squad, which delivered a commendable showing in the Under-17 category that concluded yesterday.

The Moroccan women’s team secured second place overall, thanks to the strong performances of several athletes, most notably Malak Sabri, who claimed the gold medal in the 73 kg weight class, reaffirming her status as one of the most promising rising stars in the sport.

On the men’s side, despite fierce competition, wrestler Anwar stood out by winning the bronze medal after an impressive performance that drew attention. He received special praise from the Egyptian national team coach, who noted Anwar’s bright future in wrestling, adding that the age and weight gap between him and his opponents was a key factor that kept him from reaching the top spot.

The championship now enters a new phase with the launch of the Under-20 category, as followers eagerly await the emergence of new talents capable of continuing to raise the national flag on the continental stage.
